Construction of secular librational invariant tori for exoplanetary systems
We investigate the problem of the existence of librational KAM tori in extrasolar planetary systems, considering a three-body problem formed by a central star and two planets. These invariant tori correspond to configurations in which the pericenters of the two orbits are in a state of apsidal locking, namely they librate around the anti-alignment configuration.
Focusing on the dynamics of the Nu Andromedae planetary system, we consider a secular approximation at order two in the masses of the planetary three-body problem. In this framework, we first construct a suitable elliptic lower dimensional torus, i.e. a solution where the pericenters are locked anti-aligned; then we show the existence of librational KAM tori of maximal dimension. Specifically, we focus on the one corresponding to initial conditions compatible with the observations.
