Stability analysis of apsidal alignment and antialignment in double averaged three-body problem
We consider a planetary system, in which two planets move around a central star. The masses of the planets are significantly less than the mass of the star. Within the framework of the double averaged three-body problem, the evolution of the orbital motion of the planets due to their mutual attraction is studied. A special attention is given to the stationary regimes, in which the difference between the longitudes of planets’ periastrons equals 0 or 180 degrees.
